Man in court after cars damaged in Darlinghurst

A man will be appear in court today after a number of cars were damaged at Darlinghurst this morning, NSW Police say.

About 1.10am (Thursday 9 November 2017) police were called to Burton Street, Darlinghurst, following reports a man was smashing random vehicles.

Officers from Kings Cross Local Area Command attended, and spoke to a 41-year-old man who was allegedly armed with a metal pole.

As police attempted to arrest him, it will be alleged he became aggressive and resisted police efforts to handcuff him.

The man was arrested and taken to Kings Cross Police Station where he was charged with 11 offences including; threaten injury to person with intent to prevent lawful detention, resist officer in execution of duty, goods in personal custody suspected of being stolen, possess prohibited drug, and seven counts of destroy or damage property.

He was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court today, (Thursday 9 November 2017).
