Man in court after 'Ice' worth $400,000 seized - north

A man has been charged after police seized more than $360,000 worth of methylamphetamine (Ice) in a vehicle stop in Sydney's north west yesterday.

About 1.40pm (Wednesday 19 August 2020), officers attached to Quakers Hill Police Area Command stopped a black Holden Commodore on the Stanhope Parkway in The Ponds.

Upon searching the vehicle, police located a bag – allegedly under the driver's seat – containing multiple packages of methylamphetamine.

The driver, a 39-year-old man, was arrested and taken to Riverstone Police Station.

About 6.20pm, a search warrant was executed at a home on Church Street, Castlereagh, where police seized more methylamphetamine as well as drug paraphernalia, mobile phones, cameras, documents, two push knives and set of knuckle-dusters.

The estimated potential street value of the methylamphetamine seized is $405,000.

The Rouse Hill man was charged with supply prohibited drug (commercial quantity), and drive while licence suspended.

He was refused bail to appear in Blacktown Local Court today (Thursday 20 August 2020).
