A man will appear in court today charged with more than 20 domestic violence-related offences following a cross-city operation initiated by Liverpool City Police.
Officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command have been conducting extensive inquiries into reports a 50-year-old man had allegedly been stalking his former partner for several months.
A joint operation was initiated involving officers from Liverpool City PAC and the South West Metropolitan Region's DV High-Risk Offenders Team.
Acting on information provided, about 2pm yesterday (Saturday 1 February 2020), detectives attached to Ryde PAC arrested the man outside a home in Clayton Street, Ryde.
He was taken to Ryde Police Station where he has now been charged with an outstanding warrant for 24 offences,
- Contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (Domestic) (10 counts)
- Stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (10 counts)
- Use carriage service to menace/harass/offend
- Threaten to distribute intimate image without consent (DV)
- Knowingly drive vehicle in manner menaces other, and,
- Drive motor vehicle during disqualification period.
The man, from South Wentworthville, was refused bail and will appear in Parramatta Bail Court today (Sunday 2 February 2020).
