Man in court over armed robbery at Molong

A man will appear at court today charged over an alleged armed robbery in the state's Central West.

About 5.15pm yesterday (Sunday 1 March 2020), police will allege a man, armed with a tomahawk, entered a licensed premises and approached the bar area on Riddell Street, Molong.

The man allegedly splashed a patron in the face with petrol and threatened a female staff member before he stole cash.

Officers from Central West Police District attended and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, investigators arrested a 29-year-old man at a home on Gidley Street, Molong, about 10.50pm yesterday.

He was taken to Orange Police Station, where he was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon.

The man was refused bail to appear at Orange Local Court today (Monday 2 March 2020).
