Man In Critical Condition After Crash At Thurgoona

A man is in a critical condition after a crash in the state's south early this morning.

Shortly after midnight today (Thursday 2 July 2026), emergency services attended Finlay Road, Thurgoona, following reports of a single-vehicle crash.

Officers from Murray River Police District attended and found a car had hit a power pole.

The driver – an 18-year-old woman – was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for non-life-threatening injuries.

The passenger – a 21-year-old man – was trapped in the car before being released by emergency services.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to hospital in a critical condition.

The woman was arrested and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established and examined by specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit.
