Man in critical condition after stabbing at Wyong

Investigations are underway following the stabbing of a man at a convenience store on the state's Central Coast.

Emergency services were called to a store on Warner Avenue and Levitt Street, Wyong, about 9.25am (Tuesday 2 April 2019), following reports a man had been stabbed.

Police have been told at least two people entered the store and an altercation ensued, where a man sustained multiple stab wounds.

The pair fled the scene on foot and were last seen heading east on Warner Avenue.

A man, believed to be in his 40's, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and is in a critical condition.

Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District have established a crime scene and commenced inquiries.
