Man In Critical Condition After Stabbing - South Tamworth

A man is in a critical condition in hospital following an alleged stabbing in the state's west.

About 10pm yesterday (Wednesday 1 October 2025), police were called to the intersection of Petra Avenue and Woodward Avenue, South Tamworth, following reports a man had allegedly been stabbed.

Officers attached to Oxley Police District responded and found a 43-year-old man with serious injuries to his upper body.

The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Tamworth Hospital in a serious condition.

Police established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation.

The man has since been airlifted to John Hunter Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Inquiries are ongoing.
