A man is in police custody after an alleged bag snatch at Burwood overnight, NSW Police say.
Police from Burwood Local Area Command were called to Burwood Road, Burwood, about 11.15pm (Friday 29 December 2017), after a 13-year-old girl's handbag was stolen while she waited at a bus stop.
Following inquiries, patrolling police arrested a man a short time later near Merlya Street.
The man is now assisting police with their inquiries at Burwood Police Station.
The girl was not injured.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
