Man injured during attempted robbery in Woodcroft

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the robbery of a man in Woodcroft last night, NSW Police say.

About 9.30pm today, a man was cleaning a childcare centre on Lakewood Crescent when he went outside to retrieve something from his car.

While outside the 26-year-old man was approached by two men who produced knives and threatened him while demanding his mobile phone.

The man refused and a struggle ensued. The 26-year-old man suffered superficial wounds to his chest, arms and neck.

He was taken to Blacktown Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The two other men ran from the location prior to police arrival.

A crime scene was established and detectives from Blacktown Local Area Command are conducting further inquiries.
