Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted during a home invasion in Forbes this morning, NSW Police say.
About 3.30am today, police have been told a man forced open the front door of a Farnell Street home.
The male intruder struck a 71-year-old man with an iron bar several times.
The injured man attended Forbes Hospital in a stable condition, suffering head injuries.
Police attached to the Lachlan Local Area Command established a crime scene at the property and have urged anyone with information to come forward.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
