Man now charged with ill treatment of an animal, SA

As a result of an ongoing investigation, Detectives from Hills Fleurieu Local Service Area arrested a man yesterday in relation to the ill treatment of an animal, according to SA Police.

On Wednesday 3 May, police attended the man’s home address and conducted a search, seizing several weapons including a crossbow and bolts. The man was arrested at that time and charged with possessing prohibited weapons.

Yesterday, the 20-year-old from Mount Barker was charged with ill treatment of an animal and property damage in relation to the shooting of a cat with a crossbow in April.

He has been bailed to appear in the Mount Barker Magistrates court on 16 August.
