Man reported for laptop theft and drink driving, SA

An Aberfoyle Park man has been reported for stealing a laptop and drink driving after an incident in the city this morning, according to SA Police.

Police were called to the Convention Centre on North Terrace just after 11.30am on Saturday 24 September by reports a laptop computer had been stolen. A police patrol conducted inquiries and identified a suspect. He was reported for theft and the laptop was returned to the victim.

The suspect, who was intoxicated, was then seen driving his car and attempting to leave the car park. He was again stopped by police.

The 39-year-old Aberfoyle Park man recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.278 - more than five times the legal limit. He was further reported for drink driving and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

His vehicle was impounded for 28 days and he received a 12 month instant loss of licence.
