Man robbed in Abbotsford

Melbourne Embona Taskforce detectives are appealing for public assistance after a man was robbed in Abbotsford last month, Victoria Police say.

Police have been told a 48-year-old man was out at a bar on Whiteman Street in Melbourne where he befriended two males and a female in the early hours of the morning on Sunday 8 October.

They all then left together and caught a taxi to Victoria Street near Park Street in Abbotsford about 3.45am.

After getting out of the taxi the victim was hit with a bottle and fell to the ground before being assaulted by both of the males.

A small amount of cash was also stolen and the offenders fled the scene.

They were last seen running along Park Street.

The Preston man received minor injuries.

The first male offender is described as African in appearance with black hair in cornrows, aged 25 to 30-years-old and was wearing a white shirt and jeans.

The second male is described as African in appearance, aged 25 to 30-years-old, wearing a blue shirt, blue pants.

The female is described as African in appearance with long straight black hair and was wearing a red dress, heels and a silver necklace.

Detectives have released a digital image of a man that may be able to assist with their enquiries.
