Man's body located on riverbank in Sydney's north

A man’s body has been located on a riverbank in Sydney’s north after he went missing early this morning, NSW Police say.

After 1am today, friends of 24-year-old man commenced searching around the Laughtondale area after the man drove a utility from a nearby house.

Just before 1pm, officers from Kuring Gai Local Area Command were contacted after the ute was was found crashed into a fence on Singleton Road, unattended.

Emergency services commenced searching for the man; about 4pm, the man’s body was located on a riverbank on the Hawkesbury River.

A crime scene has been established, initial inquiries have led police to believe the man’s death is not suspicious.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
