Man Seriously Hurt in Lithgow Vehicle Fall

A man has been seriously injured after falling from a moving vehicle in a state forest about 80km south-west of Lithgow.

About 3.20am yesterday (Sunday 15 February 2026), emergency services responded to reports that a passenger of a utility had fallen from the vehicle whilst it was travelling along Hanrahans Lane, Black Springs.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man - aged 21 - at the scene before he was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

Officers from Chifley Police District established a crime scene and seized the vehicle for forensic examination.

The driver - a 19-year-old woman - is yet to be formally spoken to by police

The woman was not injured and no other occupants were in the vehicle at the time.

No other vehicle is believed to have been involved in the incident.

Investigations are continuing.
