Man seriously injured during Williamstown aggravated burglary

A man has been taken to hospital after suffering multiple stab wounds during an aggravated burglary in Williamstown this morning.

It is believed an unknown female gained entry to The Strand address just after 1.30am when she was disturbed by a male occupant.

The man was then stabbed multiple times before the woman fled the scene.

The 53-year-old victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police have established a crime scene and have closed The Strand between Mariner Street and Stanley Street while they process the scene.
