Man shot at Wollongong

Police will address the media after a man was shot at Wollongong overnight.

About 3.15am (Thursday 25 February 2021), emergency services were called to a unit complex on Crown Street, Wollongong.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and found a 23-year-old man suffering a gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken to Wollongong Hospital and will undergo surgery. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Officers from Wollongong Police District attended and commenced inquiries. A crime scene was established and is being forensically examined.

Detectives have commenced an investigation into the incident.
