At approximately 9:45pm on Tuesday, 20 September 2016, police were contacted in relation to reports of shots being fired in the Invermay and Newnham areas, Tasmania Police say.
A 27 year old man with minor gunshot wounds to his face and upper body was located in Mayfield. He was taken to the Launceston General Hospital where he was treated for non life threatening injuries.
Launceston Detectives have arrested a 22 year old Prospect man who will be facing court today on numerous charges related to the incident.
The matter was an isolated incident and the parties involved are known to each other.
