Man shot in Penrith

A man has been taken to hospital after being shot in Sydney's west today.

About 3.20pm (Thursday 7 November 2019), emergency services were called to Barber Avenue in Penrith following reports that shots had been fired.

Officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command attended, with NSW Ambulance paramedics, who treated a man, aged in his early 30s, for gunshot wounds.

He was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene has been established and Barber Avenue remains closed to vehicles as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
