Police investigate after man shot in Sydney's south west

An investigation has commenced after a man was shot in Sydney's south west tonight.

Just after 8.15pm (Monday 31 August 2020), emergency services were called to Garrong Road, Lakemba, after reports a man had been injured.

Officers from Campsie Police Area Command attended and a found a 29-year-old man suffering gunshot wounds

He was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital where he has undergone surgery. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

A crime scene has been established which will be forensically examined.

The incident is now being investigated by detectives, who are appealing for anyone with information to contact Campsie Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
