Police are investigating after a man died in Merrylands last night, NSW Police say.
Emergency services were called to a unit on Eddy Street in Merrylands about 9.30pm (Friday 19 January 2018) following reports that a man had been shot.
Upon arrival, police located a body of a 22-year-old man.
Officers from the Cumberland Police Area Command with the assistance of State Crime Command, Homicide Squad attended and established a crime scene which will be examined by specialised forensic officers.
A 19-year-old man was arrested nearby and taken to Merrylands Police Station currently assisting with inquiries.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
