Man slashed with knife during robbery in Auburn

A man has been slashed with a knife during a robbery in Sydney’s west earlier this year, NSW Police say.

Police have been told a 30-year-old man was in a basement car park on Kerr Parade, Auburn, just before 6pm on Friday 7 September 2018, when he was confronted by another man, who was armed with a knife.

The armed man slashed the other man with the knife, before stealing a mobile phone, cash and other personal items.

He fled the scene and was last seen in a park on the corner of Station Road and Rawson Street.

The injured man sustained a deep laceration to his lip and was taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment.

Officers from Auburn Police Area Command were notified and commenced an investigation.

As part of the investigation, detectives have released a CCTV image of a man they believe can assist with their inquiries.

The man is depicted as being of Asian appearance, aged 30 to 35, and wearing a black jacket.
