Man sought after performing indecent act in Canterbury

Police are investigating after a man performed an indecent act in front of a group of young school children in Sydney’s south-west today, NSW Police say.

About 11.30am today, approximately 40 school children aged from eight to 10 were walking along Broughton Street, Canterbury, when their teachers noticed a man waving from the other side of the Cooks River.

Police were told the man removed clothing and performed an indecent act in view of the children.

A teacher contacted police who attended and conducted a patrol, but the man was not located.

Officers from Campsie Local Area Command are now seeking information about a man described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 30s or 40s, about 183cm tall with a fair complexion, dark brown hair and a blue baseball hat.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
