Inquiries are underway after a man was slashed during a confrontation in Sydney’s west overnight.
Emergency Services were called to Merrylands Railway Station shortly before 7pm (Saturday 28 November 2020), where a 28-year-old man was found suffering a deep slash wound to his upper left arm.
Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command rendered first aid until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived and took the man to Westmead Hospital where he’s reported to be in a serious but stable condition.
Police have been told the man was leaving the platform when he was involved in an argument with another man, before he was slashed with a knife. The other man then left the scene.
A crime scene has been established and investigations are now underway into the identity of the man.
