Man stabbed, teen charged at Randwick

A teenager has been charged after a stabbing at Randwick overnight.

About 9.50pm (Thursday 18 April 2019), two males, aged 21 and 17, who are known to each other, became involved in an altercation at a home on Meymott Street.

After the altercation, the older man left the home but was followed by the younger man.

A further altercation took place outside a home on Howard Street, during which the older man received several stab wounds.

Emergency services attended and the injured man was taken to St Vincent's Hospital where he is in a stable condition, awaiting surgery.

A short time later the 17-year-old was arrested at the home on Meymott Street and taken to Maroubra Police Station. Whilst in custody he was treated for a hand laceration.

The teenager was later charged with recklessly inflict grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail to appear at a Children's Court today (Friday 19 April 2019).

Inquiries into the incident continue.
