Man stabbed; Teen charged - North Ryde

A teenager will face court today, charged after a man was allegedly stabbed during an altercation in Sydney's north-west yesterday.

About 5.15pm (Wednesday 6 May 2020), emergency services were called to Magdala Road, North Ryde, following reports a man had been injured.

Officers from Ryde Police Area Command attended and found a 57-year-old man suffering a stab wound to his abdomen.

It is alleged the man was injured after confronting two males seen graffitiing a footbridge of the Lane Cove Valley Walk.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.

Two males, aged 19 and 16 were arrested nearby and taken to Ryde Police Station.

The older teen was transferred to Concord Hospital to receive treatment for an injury to his hand.

He was later released and charged with reckless wounding and possess prohibited drug before being refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court today (Thursday 7 May 2020).

The younger teen was released pending further inquiries.
