Police are investigating after a man was struck by a car in Springvale South this morning, Victoria Police say.
Dandenong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have been told a Mazda hatch travelling west on Paterson Road struck the man just east of Springvale Road about 4.30am.
The 31-year-old Springvale South man sustained significant injuries and was conveyed to hospital.
The driver of the Mazda, a 50-year-old Springvale South woman, stopped at the scene and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be established.
Paterson Road was closed for some time while Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives processed the scene.
