Man struck with chair and stabbed in Sutherland

A woman has been charged after allegedly assaulting a man in Sydney’s south, NSW Police say.

Police will allege a 35-year-old man was at a unit on Vermont Street, Sutherland, when he began to argue with a 37-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man, about 6.30pm on Thursday 28 September 2017.

During the argument, it will be alleged the woman struck the 35-year-old man with a chair, before the 40-year-old man forced him to the ground and allegedly stabbed him in the neck and arm.

The pair then threatened the man before fleeing the scene.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 35-year-old man at the scene before taking him to Sutherland Hospital.

Officers attached to Sutherland Local Area Command established a crime scene and commenced and investigation.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 37-year-old woman a short time later. She was taken to Sutherland Police Station where she was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The woman was granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Sutherland Local Court on Thursday 19 October 2017.
