Police are investigating an armed robbery in Sydney’s north west in which a service station worker was wounded, NSW Police say.
About 9.10pm (Tuesday 2 January 2018), a 42-year-old man was working at the console of a service station on Solander Drive, Kings Langley, when three men with their faces covered entered the store.
Two of the men were armed with firearms, and the other was armed with a sword.
The men threatened the console operator and demanded cash and cigarettes.
Whilst the victim was handing them the cash register draw, the man with the sword lashed out him, partially severing the worker’s right thumb.
The offenders then took the cash and ran from the scene. They were last seen running south on Reardon Avenue.
Police from Quakers Hill Police Area Command attended and a crime scene was established which was examined by forensic officers.
The victim was taken to Westmead Hospital where he is expected to undergo surgery.
The man with the sword has been described as aged 20-25, wearing long black trousers and a hooded top.
The man with the pistol has been also been described as aged 20-25, wearing long black trousers and a hooded top.
The other man was armed with a shortened firearm and has been described as aged 20-25, wearing a black long sleeved hooded top, navy blue track pants, a grey shirt, grey gloves, and a white cap.
Inquiries continue.
