Officers from Campsie Police Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding a stabbing in Belmore overnight.
Shortly before 11pm (Monday 1 July 2019), emergency services were called to a home on Paxton Avenue, Belmore following reports a man had been stabbed.
On arrival officers located a man on the street suffering a serious laceration to his ear.
He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Canterbury Hospital for surgery.
A crime scene was established as police received information that a man, only described as Asian in appearance, was seen running from the area.
A woman was also taken to hospital suffering shock.
As inquiries continue police believe this was a domestic related incident.
