Man suffers severe leg injuries after being hit by truck in Guildford

Investigations are underway after a pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a truck on Woodville Road at Guildford this morning.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command are trying to determine where the man was walking, when he was struck by the truck – which failed to stop – about 6.15am (Monday 25 February 2019).

The man as treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital with severe leg injuries. He's described as being in a serious condition.

Southbound lanes on Woodville Road have been closed while the scene is examined by officers from the Crash Investigation Unit.

Police are speaking with witnesses as they attempt to identify the truck involved.

Woodville Road remains closed southbound between Oxford Street and Guildford Road; southbound traffic is being diverted via Oxford Street, Railway Terrace and Guildford Road to return to Woodville Road.
