Man to be extradited over deception charges, SA

A man is being extradited from the Northern Territory after he was arrested on a number of deception offences, according to SA Police.

An extensive investigation by detectives from the Electronic Crime Section in South Australia led to the arrest by Northern Territory police of the 53-year-old man on Tuesday.

Police will allege the offences were carried out between July 2014 and May 2016 and involve 73 reports of deception in South Australia. The offending relates to online ticket sales and police will allege the total deception is in excess of $20,000.

The man has been charged with deception and police have successfully sought his extradition. He is expected to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday 7 October.

Police encourage anyone who believes they may have been a victim of online deception to make a report online via the Australian Cybercrime Online Reporting Network at www.acorn.gov.au
