Man to face court after drug, cash found in Auburn

A man will face court today after a vehicle was stopped and searched in Sydney's west this morning.

About 3.50am (Friday 22 January 2021), officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command were conducting routine patrols when they observed a vehicle allegedly being driven erratically on Civic Road, Auburn.

Police stopped the vehicle and spoke to the driver, a 25-year-old woman, and the passenger, a 64-year-old man.

Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and found a bag of prohibited drugs, with a large amount of cash found when the man was searched. Police further allege the man had also breached an enforceable Apprehended Violence Order (AVO).

He was arrested and taken to Auburn Police Station where he was charged with contravene AVO, and goods in personal custody suspected being stolen.

The Lane Cove man was refused bail to appear in Burwood Local Court today (Friday 22 January 2021).

Inquiries are continuing.
