Man to face court following assault in Campbelltown

A man has been charged and will face court next month following an alleged assault in Sydney’s south-west, NSW Police say.

About 12.45am today, police were patrolling Queen Street, Campbelltown, when they allegedly observed one man approach another man and punch him, causing him to fall to the ground.

An ambulance was called to the scene and the 24-year-old unconscious man was treated at the scene, before being taken to Campbelltown Hospital.

A 27-year-old man was arrested and taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He was granted conditional bail and will appear in Campbelltown Local Court on Monday 19 December 2016.

The younger man has since been discharged from hospital.
