Man under police guard after motor cycle crash in Wollongong

A man remains in hospital under police guard after prohibited items were found following a motor cycle crash in Wollongong yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 6.30pm on Friday 19 January 2018, a man is alleged to have been riding a motor cycle erratically on Crown Street, Wollongong. At the intersection of Mangerton Road, the motor cycle has collided with a white Toyota Camry.

Emergency services were called to the scene and the man was treated for a number of injuries. He was taken to Wollongong Hospital with serious but not-life threatening injuries.

Police from Wollongong Local Area Command attended the hospital to speak with the man while further inquiries were conducted.

Police allegedly located and seized a bag containing a quantity of methylamphetamine (ice), a pen gun and ammunition.

The man remains under police guard and investigations into the incident are continuing.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
