Man under police guard in hospital after Rouse Hill break-in

A man is in custody after being injured during an alleged break in at Rouse Hill overnight.

Just before 3am (Thursday 21 March 2019), police were called to a shopping centre on Main Street, after reports of a break in.

Officers from The Hills and Quakers Hill Police Area Commands were told two people had gained access to a store via the roof cavity and were stealing property.

Officers found a 29-year-old man who had suffered a head injury after falling from the roof cavity.

Paramedics attended, and the man was taken to Westmead Hospital where he remains in a serious condition under police guard.

Police conducted an extensive search of the area with the assistance of the Dog Unit; however, the second person could not be located.
