A man's quick reflexes saved him from death when a speeding car went out of control.

The unsuspecting bystander was sitting on the side of a quiet street in Brazil .

He then spots the car's head lights as it barrels towards the crossroads.

As the vehicle swerves, he realises that it is about to crash and leaps to his feet as it oversteers and the the back end skids out towards the curb.

He sprints out of the way, and just seconds later the car smashes into the box he had been sitting on, completely destroying it.

The car continues for a short while before it ploughs into a lampost.
