Inner West Mayor Darcy Byrne
The Inner West is set to come alive with the sounds of music as the much-loved Marrickville Music Festival returns on Sunday 12 October 2025.
Presented by Inner West Council, the free, family-friendly event will transform Marrickville's streets, parks and venues into a buzzing hub of live performance, food, art markets and culture — celebrating the area's reputation as the creative heart of Sydney.
This year's festival will feature seven stages across Marrickville, hosting an exciting mix of international headliners, national favourites, and homegrown Inner West talent, including:
- Yours Truly – ARIA-nominated pop-punk Inner Westies
- The Colliflowers – playing upbeat Australian indie rock
- byjaye – making waves with his blend of RnB and alt-pop
- Southey – acoustic introspective folk music
- No Frills Twins – twin sisters known for their operatic vocals blended with pop music
- Upside Under – soul and funk band
Inner West Mayor Darcy Byrne said the festival reflects the area's identity as the cultural and nightlife capital of Sydney.
"Marrickville Music Festival is a celebration of everything that makes our community unique — diversity, creativity and a love of live music. With seven stages and one of our strongest line-ups yet, this year will be our biggest festival to date," Mayor Byrne said.
Alongside the music, festival-goers can enjoy a curated program of food stalls, local craft beer, children's entertainment, markets and cultural performances showcasing the area's vibrant multicultural community.
The Marrickville Music Festival has been running since 2003 and has grown into one of Sydney's most anticipated community events, attracting thousands of people each year.
The 2025 event is expected to draw record crowds, with all performances free to attend.
Proudly sponsored by Wests Ashfield.
