Cessnock local government area residents are invited to a town hall-style community meeting at Greta Workers Club from 6pm on 24 August 2026.
Cessnock City Mayor Dan Watton and General Manager Natalia Cowley will speak at the event about important issues, including Cessnock City Council's ongoing journey towards financial sustainability, before the floor is opened to questions from attendees.
Mayor Watton said he was looking forward to hearing from people from across Cessnock LGA at the forum.
"I encourage residents to think about the issues that matter to them and come along to the event ready to engage in open, meaningful and respectful conversation about the LGA we love," he said.
"This forum is all about accessibility, transparency, and giving the community direct access to Council leadership."
Ms Cowley said she would provide an overview of Council's current financial situation at the forum and said ongoing engagement with the community was vital to the delivery of transparent and sustainable outcomes.
"Forums such as this are an effective way for Council to engage with, listen to and inform our community on the key issues affecting our LGA," she said.
"This meeting will also be a valuable chance to listen to feedback about the types of local issues that affect us all."
No bookings are required to attend this event, simply turn up at the meeting to participate.
