Mayor thanks volunteers

Horsham Rural City Council Mayor Cr Robyn Gulline is using National Volunteer Week, May 17 to 23, to reflect on the important role volunteers have played in the region over the past year.

"Volunteering is known to have health and wellbeing benefits. It helps people feel part of the community, can relieve stress, and gives people purpose," Cr Gulline said.

"In our municipality volunteers fill many important roles including as committee members of our regional halls, ushers at the Horsham Town Hall and delivery of Meals on Wheels to the elderly.

"We would like to invite our volunteers to join us for morning tea to say thank you, and to acknowledge their contributions over the past two years."

The morning tea will take place on Monday 17 May, 10.30am to 11.30am in the Heritage Hall at the Horsham Town Hall.
