MCIU revisit Nar Nar Goon fatal scene

Police will be back at the scene of a fatal collision at Nar Nar Goon this afternoon, Victoria Police say.

Major Collision Investigation Group detectives will be at the Princes Highway where an off duty police officer lost his life on Friday 14 April.

The Narre Warren Sergeant was riding a bicycle east with his daughter on the Princes Highway, near Dore Road, when he was struck by a utility, also travelling east about 8.50am.

The driver, a 58-year-old man from Pakenham, immediately stopped at the scene and assisted police with their enquiries.

He was driving a white 2002 Toyota utility with a black tool box on the passenger side of the vehicle’s tray.

Detectives will be on site from about 2pm today re-examining the scene.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have observed both riders as they set off from a service station about 8.30am on the Princes Highway riding east.

The collision occurred shortly later, about five kilometres away.

Anyone who witnessed the crash, saw the riders or believe they may have in-car video of the riders are asked to come forward by contacting Crime Stoppers.
