MEDIA ADVISORY: Appeal For Information After Child Was Hit By Car - North Of Wollongong

NSW Police and NSW Ambulance will address the media following reports of a child hit by a car, about 9am today in the Illawarra.

Wollongong Police District responded along with NSW Ambulance who treated a 3-year-old boy for head and facial injuries. The boy was transported by road to an oval on Bott Road, Bellambi and airlifted to Sydney Children's hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The driver, a 64-year-old female, was uninjured and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash has commenced.

Police are appealing for anyone with information, dashcam and/or CCTV footage in relation to the incident to contact Wollongong Police District or Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
