Melbourne Money ends tonight

Melburnians have one last chance to grab a bite to eat before the Melbourne Money dining scheme closes at 11:59pm tonight.

The highly successful scheme has seen more than $40 million flow back into the hospitality sector at a time when businesses needed it most.

Melbourne Money is offered in partnership with the Victorian Government as part of its $107.4 million contribution to bolster City of Melbourne businesses and bring back the buzz.

While receipts need to be timestamped before midnight tonight, diners have until 11:59pm on Friday 16 July to submit final claims. Eligible Melbourne Money claims that are submitted by Friday will be paid out.

Quotes attributable to Lord Mayor Sally Capp

"There's just enough time left for taco Tuesdays or trivia at your favourite pub before Melbourne Money ends at midnight tonight," the Lord Mayor said.

"Melbourne Money has brought thousands of Victorians in to our marvellous city over recent weeks, with pedestrian foot traffic edging over 86 per cent of pre-COVID levels last weekend.

"Our local pubs, restaurants and cafes have endured the toughest trading conditions in generations so it is so critical that we could help support them through the Melbourne Money program.

"Thank you to everyone who has joined us and helped bring some of the buzz back to our great city, while supporting local businesses."
