Melbourne theft and deceptions

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a theft and subsequent deceptions which occurred in Melbourne in August, Victoria Police say.

Officers have been told a 30-year-old woman travelled from Hobart to Melbourne on Monday 28 August.

Her flight landed about 11.30pm and the woman went to collect her luggage.

When she arrived at the baggage carousel she discovered that her bags had been stolen.

A credit card which was in one of the bags was used a number of times in Melbourne in the next few hours to purchase goods to the value of $1900.

Police have released an image of a man that they believe may be able to assist with their enquires.
