MemberPoint signs technology partnership with Bowls Australia

MemberPoint, an Australian software company focused on member organisations, has signed a groundbreaking partnership with Bowls Australia to develop a leading grassroots sports technology platform built specifically for lawn bowls.

The partnership includes the development of systems to manage Bowls Australia’s membership and competitions, as well the design and development of national, state and club websites.

Based in Melbourne, MemberPoint counts some of Australia’s leading sailing, golf and members clubs among its clients. The MemberPoint app has revolutionised sailing clubs’ casual sailing programs and helped to address associated safety and compliance issues. The company also has deep experience in sailing competition management through its 50% ownership and ongoing development of Top Yacht – one of the world's leading sailing competition management systems. TopYacht customers include leading international clubs such as Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, Royal Auckland Yacht Squadron (Home of the America’s Cup), Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club as well as some Australia’s leading events; Rolex Sydney to Hobart and Hamilton Island Race Week.

The new partnership comes after Australian lawn bowls enjoyed a stellar Commonwealth Games, winning seven medals in total, including five gold, and capturing the broader public’s attention with team celebrations that broke the mould of public perception around the sport.

"Bowls Australia, in conjunction with seven State and Territory Associations, are excited to offer an expanded and improved whole-of-sport information technology platform, titled BowlsLink, that will benefit the sport across all levels," Bowls Australia CEO Neil Dalrymple said.

"A core element of the BowlsLink project is a new competition management system, designed from the ground-up and tailored to the sport's unique needs, which, in a first for the sport, will be connected and communicate to the new database system and website platforms."

MemberPoint Managing Director Robert Savage said the company was thrilled to be working with Bowls Australia to provide a fundamental platform that brings a new standard in user experience to their members.

"As a whole-of-sport management platform MemberPoint is designed using our unique approach in the sports industry to create a system developed to meet the specific needs of any sport in the digital world.

"We look forward to a lasting relationship with Bowls Australia that will see us continually improve the system as technology and the needs of the sport and its members evolve."
