Men charged over manslaughter of their mother in Greystanes

Two men will face court following investigations into the death of their mother last year, NSW Police say.

Police from Cumberland Police Area Command commenced Strike Force Loire to investigate the death of a 73-year-old Greystanes woman in palliative care at Blacktown Hospital in September 2017.

Investigators were contacted by health practitioners in the belief the woman was admitted to hospital after she was allegedly denied on-going care and medical assistance by her carers.

Following prolonged investigations, about 9am yesterday (Wednesday 2 May 2018), two men aged 39 and 42, attended Granville Police Station where they were arrested.

Both were charged with manslaughter and refused bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court today (Thursday 3 May 2018).
