Men to appear in court today after violent break-in, SA

Three men will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court this afternoon after police were called to an address in Mitchell Park this morning (23 February) in relation to a violent break-in, according to SA Police.

About 12.30am three men forced their way into a residential property and assaulted the occupants with a baseball bat.

The trio then allegedly barricaded themselves into a room at the address as police patrols from the Sturt Local Service Area arrived at the property, but were arrested a short time later.

A 23-year-old man from Christie Downs, a 27-year-old man from St Marys and a 27-year-old man from Morphettville have been refused police bail and are expected to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.

The men have been charged with an aggravated counts of serious criminal trespass, assault, assault causing harm, assaulting police, resisting arrest and property damage.

As a result of the incident one of the occupants and a police officer received medical treatment at the Flinders Medical Centre for minor injuries.
