Metronomy’s new track "Night Owl" available for streaming

- Metronomy have shared a new track, NME reports.

'Night Owl' is lifted from upcoming album ‘Summer 08’, out on July 1. It follows previously revealed cuts ‘Back Together’ and ‘Old Skool’.

According to a press release, a video for the track will be released "in the next few weeks" and was filmed in the Palm Desert by Mr Oizo.

Frontman Joseph Mount has previously explained that Metronony’s forthcoming album will be a sequel of sorts to the band's 2008 effort 'Nights Out’, which he once described as "a half-arsed concept album about going out and having a crap time".

"I just wanted to make an uptempo record," he told Q Magazine in April. "I wanted to try and do another record that captures that fading memory of being a bit younger and going to clubs, but with the confidence I didn’t have then."

Speaking on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show in May, Mount said that the album is "the most fun thing I’ve done in a long time".

Mix Master Mike, the legendary DJ who worked on several of the Beastie Boys' biggest hits, contributes a scratch break to ‘Old Skool’.

The band’s last record, 'Love Letters', was released in 2014. ‘Summer 08’ comes out on July 1.
