MidCoast Council Hosts Local Conversation Event

MidCoast Council

MidCoast Council is calling on residents, community groups, and business owners to come along to the next round of Community Conversations-a series of open forums designed to give locals a chance to hear from and talk to Councillors and senior Council staff in person.

These upcoming sessions provide an opportunity for the community to learn about Council plans and projects, share ideas, and ask questions.

Mayor Claire Pontin said that Community Conversations are a vital part of connecting with the community.

"It's important that Council and the community understand each other and communicate openly about the challenges and opportunities we have," said Mayor Pontin.

"These sessions can bring to light matters that need our attention, provide community members with insights on Council decisions, and keep community members well-informed."

The sessions will be held at various locations across the MidCoast, ensuring accessibility for both coastal and inland communities. Attendees will have the chance to speak directly to Councillors and Council staff in an informal, welcoming setting.

Key topics will include:

  • Local priorities and future planning
  • Community services and facilities
  • Road maintenance and housing development
  • Local government financial sustainability

Community members are welcome to ask about any topic related to Council responsibilities.

Residents are encouraged to attend a session in their area or another area that better suits their availability.
