The MidCoast is leading the way across regional NSW when it comes to development activity, with MidCoast Council having assessed more applications than any other regional council.
A total of 646 development applications were processed in the last financial year to date, representing a combined value of more than $307 million in local investment. This strong level of activity highlights the continued growth of the MidCoast region and its importance to the wider NSW economy.
MidCoast Council's average assessment time is currently 77 days, which meets NSW Government expectations. While this is a solid result, Council recognises there is more work to do to reduce assessment times even further. Faster assessments help support local businesses, create jobs, and strengthen the region's economy.
Council is also improving how quickly development applications are initially checked and made official in the NSW Planning Portal. The average lodgement time is now 9 days-faster than the regional council average of 11 days.
